Join In The Work

Proverbs 2:20 (MSG)
So--join the company of good men and women, keep your feet on the tried~and~true paths.

Our Pastor frequently says  (I'm paraphrasing...but I think I'm close), "If you aren't sure what to do...just look around...see where God is at work and join in."  But, in my mind I say,  "Are you sure?  Just like that?  What if it's not my 'calling'?  What if it's not my 'purpose'"?

I am embarrassed to admit this, but I struggle with over analyzing things sometimes.  For those of you that know me...you would say, "Ya think!!?"  (Ha...literally...get it..."Ya think...anyway..I digress..)  I always tell my kids that sometimes those things that are our biggest gifts can be our worst enemy.  In this case, I love to ponder and reflect on life...which is why I am writing a blog (a good thing), but the negative part comes when I don't get inolved in something, because it might not be the perfect~ultimate design for my life.
Rather than "join the company of good men and women" and get to work on the jobs that are in front of me, I have a tendency to evaluate into a paralyzed state.  This behavior renders me ineffective and wasting my potential gifts....right?  I am praying today to keep moving on the tried~and~true path!

  1. On Oprah today, she talked about how we all need to find a way to do something to assist families of those serving in the longest wars in U.S. history... I think her call fits today's proverb... Big Sister
