Love and Loyalty

Proverbs 3:3 (MSG)
Don't lose your grip on Love and Loyalty.  Tie them around your neck; carve their initials on your heart.

My Daddy gave me a beautiful necklace when I was a little girl.

It was a shining black~star sapphire set into the center of a golden heart shaped necklace.  My father brought it back to me from Thailand, upon returning from a tour of duty with the Air Force.  I placed that necklace around my neck nearly every day growing up.  To me it was a symbol of my father's love for me.  When he wasn't around, all I had to do was look down at that necklace to be reminded of his strong, yet gentle care for me.
I found myself staring at it a lot.  He told me that inside of the stone, there was a star. When you look into the stone, there is light glowing out of it.  Still to this day, I don't understand how this stone creates light within it?  All I know, is that this light that never goes out, is representative of a Daddy's love for his child...and it never quits shining!

I have sense put the stone into a ring that I wear on my right hand, so that I can see it easier.  My ring quietly represents a love and loyalty that has been  there for me all of my life.  If I lose this piece of jewlery, I am still ok......because I will always have my father's love carved on my heart.
Praying today for His love to be deeply carved in the hearts of His children.

  1. Oh I loved this....and how fun to think about that star in the ring and a father's love....and in a bigger sense of another star and another Father's love....Big Sis
