My Best Words

Honor God with everything you own; give Him the first and the best.

This is a timely verse, as I have recently been thinking a great deal about how I can honor the Lord. 

I have decided one excellent way to give Him honor, is with my words.
Words can be so powerful!  I happen to be one of those people that find words enchanting.  I adore reading them...hearing them....writing them....speaking them.....well, you get the idea.  Anyway, that is one thing that we definitely own....our words.  They are so unique.  I mean, once you give them away, you can't ever get them back.  The Bible says:  Proverbs 25:11~"The right word at the right time is like a custom-made piece of jewelry."   I would assume that means my words can fit perfectly and be beautiful and thereby, serve to bring about healing and restoration when spoken with the grace of God.
 I also know, that the words we speak can bring death.  They can seriously injure someone and do significant damage.  Unfortunately, I am sure we all can think of a time when we have been wounded with words.  I don't want to dishonor the Lord in this manner.  I am praying tonight to esteem my Father with the words of my mouth.  I am also praying to successfully complete a challenge that I have laid down for myself.  I would like to give the Lord only my best words....you know those positive affirming words that serve to lift up....not tear down.
