Wasting Time

Proverbs 4:12 (MSG)
I don't want you ending up in blind alleys, or wasting time making wrong turns.

When I was younger, I used to love doing those mazes!!  You know the ones where you start at the top of the page at "start" and work your way through to the "finish" line.  The goal is to keep from making wrong turns that end in a dead end requiring you to go back and retrace your steps. 


I would always get so frustrated when I ended up at one of these dead ends!  Before I would start the challenge, I would eye ball my path so as to be certain which direction was the correct way to go.  When my choice led me nowhere, I had to erase it all and back track.  What a waste of time!!

Tonight's verse reminds me of different times in my life when I have done the exact same thing.  In those times I have committed to something after only a quick review and not seeking what the Lord would have me do.  The end result has always been chaos!  I amaze myself that I still take off running sometimes before checking with His plans.  Oh bother.

Lord, help me to always seek Your wisdom and uprightness before I head down the road on a new adventure.  Continue to protect those lives in Japan who are in harms way as they work against the clock to contain the injured nuclear sites.  Use this time to bring healing and revelation of who You are and who we are through Your Son, Jesus Christ.  Amen
