Proverbs 2:22 (MSG)
The corrupt will lose their lives; the dishonest will be gone for good.
While every day is a history maker....the events occuring right now in Egypt are of extreme significance, not only to the people who's lives are being directly affected, but to all of us.
As a country is turning on it's government, we are watching and waiting to see what's next. Where will they go from here? Where will the revolt take them? Will it bring about change, or will it bring only chaos? When people have the perception of being trapped and not able to control their own destiny, their response is often to take action in an attempt to change their situation. However, sometimes, this action is only a reaction to the stress of the experience and not a well thought out plan. When there are no short and long term objectives prepared in advance, the goal can get lost in the waves of emotion. The reason for the revolt, if I'm understanding correctly, sounds dangerously familiar to what is happening in our country.....lack of jobs, increasing prices on goods, food shortage crisis, no perceived action from the government, and the list goes on... Egypt is not the only country in the recent past to experience such uprising. Algeria, Jordan, Yemen, Georgia, and most recently Tunisia have all been in a state of unrest.
Today's verse pivots around corruption and the end result being loss of life. My prayer for today is for the people of Egypt....for the protection of life and the restoration of peace.
